The Sunshine Coast isn't one town but a string of communities: Caloundra in the south, the Maroochydore and Mooloolaba centre, the hinterland service hub of Nambour, the Buderim plateau, and Noosa to the north. Distances between them are real, and so is the pull toward Brisbane for specialist services. We combine in-person visits with remote support so families aren't forced to drive an hour each way just to keep a behaviour support plan ticking over.
A lot of Coast families tell us their week is spread across several settings, with a school in one suburb, a day program in another, allied health somewhere else again. When strategies differ from place to place, the inconsistency itself can drive distress. We aim to write one coherent plan that travels well between Maroochydore, Caloundra, and the hinterland, so the people around a participant are all pulling in the same direction.
We work alongside local schools, allied health providers, and support coordinators across the region, and we're comfortable joining the existing team rather than starting from scratch. The goal is dignity-first support that respects what's already working in a person's life on the Coast, and builds carefully from there.
